Makeda Sobers Stephen

Mrs. Makeda Sobers-Stephen is an Attorney-at-Law with over fourteen (14) years of experience in the public sector and currently serves as a Legal Officer II with the Tobago House of Assembly. She brings strong expertise in statutory and regulatory compliance, due diligence and risk assessment.

She has advised on complex legal and administrative matters, contributed to policy development, and supported good governance practices. She also brings board-level experience, having served in key governance roles with responsibility for corporate oversight and compliance. 

Admitted to the practice of Law in Trinidad and Tobago in 2018, Mrs. Sobers-Stephen holds an LLB (Hons.) from the University of London and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from Staffordshire University. Her combined legal, governance, and analytical expertise supports her contribution to fostering a strong and accountable venture capital environment. Mrs. Sobers-Stephen began her tenure on the Board of THA Venture Capital Equity Fund Co. Ltd. in March 2026.
